The Challange
The problem at the time was that they didn’t have any prototypes yet, even wireframes to build, pitch, and acquire. They have a lot of concepts waiting to be visualized, and a lot of developers are ready to code.
A limited pre-seed investment, divided by their burn rate, determined that Cascade was racing against the clock. So, they needed the UI to be designed fast. It becomes particularly crucial to have a designer available and capable of executing their concept quickly using and operating an all-in-one industrial standard tool beyond their visual result expectations.
The Solution
To tackle the challenges, I adopt approaches leveraging Figma’s software technical ability and UI kit usage and consistently seeking out relevant references for fast and seamless visual and usability results. I turned out to be a perfect match for all Cascade’s design needs.
Additionally, I enhance my solutions by identifying areas for improvement through design feedback collaboration to produce design decisions that remain aligned with the project’s original goals.
Layout and navigation
I was able to get to work as soon as we discussed Cascade’s design needs. During this time, they already have their complete flow charts, but the crucial part is to visualize how the navigation will look and how the many pages are connected in one layout. In the case of Cascade, I did a defining of how the product’s main screen would look and provided several navigation options to choose from. The client was pleased with the results, so we continued with the full-scale product design.

Visual design and data visualization
To fit with the brand colors, I need to keep it match and still bring a modern feel at the same time. After I brought together every element of the user interface — colors, shapes, layout — and got its final polished look, we scaled the pages, and I prototyped them.

Data visualization is a bit tough, I need to make the UI fit the look and feel I defined before. We are already massively focused on the flow, navigation, and function, so we need to make this process faster by bringing a data-focused UI kit and implementing it into many pages and data.

Design system for consistency
We don’t want to suffer from design inconsistencies and cost so much time in the future. So, while I implemented the app’s visual style into a lot of pages, I also created and provided a base for the consistent UI as Cascade acquired new features. In other words, I created a proper and documented design system.

The Result
I help Cascade simplify the debt funding industry through 200+ UI screens, which are all connected through prototypes and documented design systems combined with comprehensive data visualization and intuitive layout to have a seamless, easy-to-navigate, modern, and user-friendly interface.
Based on the customer and stakeholder feedback, my approach ensures a smooth and efficient workflow for users, enhancing overall productivity and satisfaction, reducing the churn rate, and allowing the marketing team to be confident to pitch Cascade products to align with their missions to empower companies to grow by making institutional debt more accessible globally.
